Royal Thai Embassy Joins International Polo Tour® for Cross‑Cultural Sunset Polo™ 250th Anniversary Celebration

LEESBURG, VA, UNITED STATES, August 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The International Polo Tour®, ahead of next month’s IPT Sunset Polo™ White Lotus 250th Anniversary Polo Cup set for Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Morven Park International Equestrian Center in Leesburg, Virginia, is spotlighting its appreciation for the Royal Thai Embassy as support and international coordination for the event continues to grow.

An annual celebration of polo’s global impact as well as showcase of cultural diversity, unity, and allyship, this year’s IPT Sunset Polo™ will honor America’s historic legacy as well as the long-standing relationship between the U.S. and Thailand. The event will welcome as special guests His Excellency Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, with the night’s festivities including a Celebrity All Star Polo Match (including icons like the NFL’s Tim Johnson and Josh Norman (also a finalist on ABCs Dancing with the Stars), NFLs Tim Johnson and Team USA vs Thailand, and the now-annual International Polo Tour Crypto Cup held in association with FAIM.WORLD. The final game will also be held in memory of Stuart Allen Weinstein-Bacal, an avid polo supporter and friend to the greater DC area who succumbed to cancer this February.

Most important of all is the event’s philanthropic focus, with proceeds being gifted to the IPT’s nonprofit partner We Will Survive Cancer (WWSC), an organization devoted to helping families struggling with cancer diagnoses by providing childcare, transportation, counseling, and household assistance. Their work has gone global, helping communities in need work towards resilience and providing key resources like medical care and supplies.

“We are incredibly grateful for Thailand’s leadership and support in bringing the IPT Sunset Polo™ White Lotus 250th Anniversary Polo Cup to life,” said Tareq Salahi, IPT Team Captain & Chairman. “We look forward to an extraordinary celebration of polo, U.S.-Thai friendship and our continued support of We Will Survive Cancer.”

“We’re also excited to share that there will be additional IPT & Hotels at Sea tourism events held in Thailand this December 10th through 12th as well as January 16th, 2027, showcasing our growing partnership. We hope our fans will be able to join us in these upcoming celebrations of our cultures.”
